Areas of application

SOLITEX MENTO® 1000 provides superior weather and condensation protection for your roof under all weather conditions . With type R4 classification (NZS 2295), it is suitable to be used in self-supported applications up to and including extra high wind zones. SOLITEX MENTO®1000 protects your roof and building envelope from the elements during construction while allowing any internal moisture to escape through the vapour permeable, non-porous TEEE layer. For skillion roofs, fibrous insulation can be installed hard up to the underside of the the membrane as it is non-porous. Can be used directly under metal roofing as per E2/AS1, or with a ventilated cavity as per pro clima construction details (or ASV system).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • This product is a Class 4 vapour-permeable pliable building membrane in accordance with AS 4200.1.
  • This product is designed to withstand up to 30 days of UV exposure before cladding is installed.
  • This product can withstand temperatures up to 100 °C and down to -40 °C behind external claddings.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

SOLITEX MENTO® 1000 is a UV-stabilised and tear-resistant synthetic weather-resistive barrier (WRB) for roofs. A non-porous water-resistant TEEE film is laminated at high temperature between two layers of spun-bonded polypropylene (PP).

WEATHER EXPOSURE

This product is a weather-resistive barrier (WRB) designed to withstand up to 30 days of direct exposure to UV and still fulfil the intended use for wind and water control. Exterior cladding should be detailed to prevent direct sunlight onto the membrane in service.

APPLICATION NOTES

This product is suitable for use in accordance with BRANZ appraisal 876 as an alternative to conventional kraft paper roof underlays or in accordance with the approved pro clima installation method utilising counter battens and above underlay ventilation.
